Jesse Lipscombe is a largely talented athlete who participates in loads of different sports. Born in Edmonton on April 4th in 1980, he was raised in St.Albert and now lives with his loving family back in Edmonton.
Jesse started practicing track when he was 7 years old so he has been participating for 23 years now. His Grandfather Rollie Miles influenced him to start; Roland “Rollie” Miles (February 16, 1927 – August 17, 1995) was a professional football player for the Canadian Football League Edmonton Eskimos. Miles is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, and the Edmonton Eskimos Wall of Honour. Jesse considers his highest point in his career at a High school track meet, 2 years after his grandfather passed away. He won he award for high jump just as he envisioned himself doing during the months before the meet. His grandmother presented him the award and that has been stuck in his memory as his proudest moment.
Jesse’s source of inspiration comes from always wanting to do better than the day before. He is always trying to beat his earlier goal and continue to try harder. Since Jesse was 14 years old he had 3 interests he wanted to pursue, entertaining business, being an entrepreneur, and of course, athletics. Jesse has many international achievements, he was the National team’s 6th in the world in high jump.Jesse also has held every provincial record for high jump from the year 1989 to 2000. When not training or actively participating in sports Jesse is running his business, Phat Training Inc (getphatnow.com), acting and singing or in his studio making music. He has been in multiple movies such as “Resurrecting the Champ (2007)”, “The Christmas Blessing” and lots others.
His favorite quote for this year that he tries to change up every year, is “Show me a man who always keeps his feet on the ground and I’ll show you a man who can’t get his pants off.” Jesse is a family man by a long shot. He has a wonderful supporting wife and two beautiful children he loves very dearly. We can see he has his hands full but he still makes it seem so easy, proving to everyone that you can do always do better today that you did yesterday.
